[2:91] | veiẕâ ḳîle lehüm âminû bimâ enzele-llâhü ḳâlû nü'minü bimâ ünzile `aleynâ veyekfürûne bimâ verâehû vehüve-lḥaḳḳu müṣaddiḳal limâ me`ahüm. ḳul felime taḳtülûne embiyâe-llâhi min ḳablü in küntüm mü'minîn. |  وإذا قيل لهم آمنوا بما أنزل الله قالوا نؤمن بما أنزل علينا ويكفرون بما وراءه وهو الحق مصدقا لما معهم قل فلم تقتلون أنبياء الله من قبل إن كنتم مؤمنين
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ آمِنُواْ بِمَا أَنزَلَ اللّهُ قَالُواْ نُؤْمِنُ بِمَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيْنَا وَيَكْفُرُوْنَ بِمَا وَرَاءَهُ وَهُوَ الْحَقُّ مُصَدِّقاً لِّمَا مَعَهُمْ قُلْ فَلِمَ تَقْتُلُونَ أَنْبِيَاءَ اللّهِ مِنْ قَبْلُ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُّؤْمِنِينَ |

| Elmalılı | Onlara, "Allah ne indirdiyse ona iman edin." denildiği zaman, onlar "Biz kendimize indirilene iman ederiz." derler ve ondan başkasını inkâr ederler. Oysa yanlarındaki Tevrat'ı tasdik eden gerçek vahiy odur. Onlara de ki; "Peki madem gerçek mümin sizsiniz de ne diye daha önce Allah'ın peygamberlerini öldürüyordunuz? |

Ali | When it is said to them, "Believe in what Allah Hath sent down, "they say, "We believe in what was sent down to us:" yet they reject all besides, even if it be Truth confirming what is with them. Say: "Why then have ye slain the prophets of Allah in times gone by, if ye did indeed believe?"

[2:92] | veleḳad câeküm mûsâ bilbeyyinâti ŝümme-tteḫaẕtümü-l`icle mim ba`dihî veentüm żâlimûn. | ولقد جاءكم موسى بالبينات ثم اتخذتم العجل من بعده وأنتم ظالمون
وَلَقَدْ جَاءَكُمْ مُّوسَى بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ ثُمَّ اتَّخَذْتُمُ الْعِجْلَ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ وَأَنتُمْ ظَالِمُونَ |

| Elmalılı | Celâlim hakkı için Musa size belgelerle gelmişti de onun arkasından tuttunuz o buzağıya taptınız. Siz işte o zâlimlersiniz. |
| Y. Ali | There came to you Moses with clear (Signs); yet ye worshipped the calf (Even) after that, and ye did behave wrongfully.

[2:93] | veiẕ eḫaẕnâ mîŝâḳaküm verafa`nâ fevḳakümu-ṭṭûr. ḫuẕû mâ âteynâküm biḳuvvetiv vesme`û. ḳâlû semi`nâ ve`aṣaynâ veüşribû fî ḳulûbihimü-l`icle biküfrihim. ḳul bi'semâ ye'müruküm bihî îmânüküm in küntüm mü'minîn. | وإذ أخذنا ميثاقكم ورفعنا فوقكم الطور خذوا ما آتيناكم بقوة واسمعوا قالوا سمعنا وعصينا وأشربوا في قلوبهم العجل بكفرهم قل بئسما يأمركم به إيمانكم إن كنتم مؤمنين
وَإِذْ أَخَذْنَا مِيثَاقَكُمْ وَرَفَعْنَا فَوْقَكُمُ الطُّورَ خُذُواْ مَا آتَيْنَاكُمْ بِقُوَّةٍ وَّاسْمَعُواْ قَالُواْ سَمِعْنَا وَعَصَيْنَا وَأُشْرِبُواْ فِي قُلُوبِهِمُ الْعِجْلَ بِكُفْرِهِمْ قُلْ بِئْسَمَا يَأْمُرُكُمْ بِهِ إِيمَانُكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ مُّؤْمِنِينَ |

| Elmalılı | Bir zamanlar size, "verdiğimiz kitaba kuvvetle sarılın ve onu dinleyin." diye Tûr'u tepenize kaldırıp mîsakınızı aldık. (O yahudiler): "Duyduk, dinledik, isyan ettik." dediler, kâfirlikleri yüzünden o danayı yüreklerinde besleyip büyüttüler. De ki, " Eğer siz mümin kimseler iseniz, bu imanınız size ne çirkin şeyler emrediyor! |

Ali | And remember We took your covenant and We raised above you (the towering height) of Mount (Sinai): (Saying): "Hold firmly to what We have given you, and hearken (to the Law)": They said:" We hear, and we disobey:" And they had to drink into their hearts (of the taint) of the calf because of their Faithlessness. Say: "Vile indeed are the behests of your Faith if ye have any faith!"

[2:94] | ḳul in kânet lekümü-ddâru-l'âḫiratü `inde-llâhi ḫâliṣatem min dûni-nnâsi fetemennevu-lmevte in küntüm ṣâdiḳîn. | قل إن كانت لكم الدار الآخرة عند الله خالصة من دون الناس فتمنوا الموت إن كنتم صادقين
قُلْ إِنْ كَانَتْ لَكُمُ الدَّارُ الْآخِرَةُ عِنْدَ اللّهِ خَالِصَةً مِّنْ دُونِ النَّاسِ فَتَمَنَّوُاْ الْمَوْتَ إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ |

| Elmalılı | De ki; Allah yanında ahiret yurdu (cennet) başkalarının değil de yalnızca sizin ise, eğer iddianızda da sadık iseniz haydi hemen ölümü temenni ediniz, ölmeyi cana minnet biliniz. |
| Y. Ali | Say: "If the last Home, with Allah, be for you specially, and not for anyone else, then seek ye for death, if ye are sincere."

[2:95] | veley yetemennevhü ebedem bimâ ḳaddemet eydîhim. vellâhü `alîmüm biżżâlimîn. | ولن يتمنوه أبدا بما قدمت أيديهم والله عليم بالظالمين
وَلَنْ يَّتَمَنَّوْهُ أَبَدًا بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَاللّهُ عَلِيمٌ بِالظَّالِمينَ |

| Elmalılı | Fakat elleriyle işledikleri yüzünden onu hiçbir zaman temenni edemiyecekler. Allah o zâlimleri bilir. |
| Y. Ali | But they will never seek for death, on account of the (sins) which their hands have sent on before them. and Allah is well-acquainted with the wrong-doers.

[2:96] | veletecidennehüm aḥraṣa-nnâsi `alâ ḥayâh. vemine-lleẕîne eşrakû yeveddü eḥadühüm lev yü`ammeru elfe seneh. vemâ hüve bimüzaḥziḥihî mine-l`aẕâbi ey yü`ammer. vellâhü beṣîrum bimâ ya`melûn. | ولتجدنهم أحرص الناس على حياة ومن الذين أشركوا يود أحدهم لو يعمر ألف سنة وما هو بمزحزحه من العذاب أن يعمر والله بصير بما يعملون
وَلَتَجِدَنَّهُمْ أَحْرَصَ النَّاسِ عَلَى حَيَاةٍ وَمِنَ الَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُواْ يَوَدُّ أَحَدُهُمْ لَوْ يُعَمَّرُ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ وَمَا هُوَ بِمُزَحْزِحِهِ مِنَ الْعَذَابِ أَنْ يُّعَمَّرَ وَاللّهُ بَصِيرٌ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ |

| Elmalılı | Elbette onları insanların hayata en hırslı, en düşkün olanları olarak bulacak, hatta müşriklerden bile daha düşkün bulacaksın. Onların her biri bin sene ömür sürmeyi arzular, oysa uzun yaşamak kendisini azaptan kurtarıp uzaklaştıracak değildir. Allah, onların neler yaptığını görüp duruyor. |
| Y. Ali | Thou wilt indeed find them, of all people, most greedy of life,-even more than the idolaters: Each one of them wishes He could be given a life of a thousand years: But the grant of such life will not save him from (due) punishment. For Allah sees well all that they do.

| Words | |ولتجدنهم - And surely you will find them| أحرص - (the) most greedy| الناس - (of) [the] mankind| على - for| حياة - life,| ومن - and (greedier) than| الذين - those who| أشركوا - associate[d] partners (with Allah).| يود - Loves| أحدهم - (each) one of them| لو - if| يعمر - he could be granted a life| ألف - (of) a thousand| سنة - year(s).| وما - But not| هو - it| بمزحزحه - (will) remove him| من - from| العذاب - the punishment| أن - that| يعمر - he should be granted life.| والله - And Allah| بصير - (is) All-Seer| بما - of what| يعملون - they do.| |

[2:97] | ḳul men kâne `adüvvel licibrîle feinnehû nezzelehû `alâ ḳalbike biiẕni-llâhi müṣaddiḳal limâ beyne yedeyhi vehüdev vebüşrâ lilmü'minîn. | قل من كان عدوا لجبريل فإنه نزله على قلبك بإذن الله مصدقا لما بين يديه وهدى وبشرى للمؤمنين
قُلْ مَنْ كَانَ عَدُوًّا لِّجِبْرِيلَ فَإِنَّهُ نَزَّلَهُ عَلَى قَلْبِكَ بِإِذْنِ اللّهِ مُصَدِّقاً لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَهُدًى وَبُشْرَى لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ |

| Elmalılı | Söyle; her kim Cebrail'e düşman ise iyi bilsin ki, Kur'ân'ı senin kalbine Allah'ın izniyle kendinden önceki vahiyleri onaylayıcı, müminlere hidayet ve müjde kaynağı olmak üzere o indirdi. |
| Y. Ali | Say: Whoever is an enemy to Gabriel-for he brings down the (revelation) to thy heart by Allah's will, a confirmation of what went before, and guidance and glad tidings for those who believe,-

[2:98] | men kâne `adüvvel lillâhi vemelâiketihî verusülihî vecibrîle vemîkâle feinne-llâhe `adüvvül lilkâfirîn. | من كان عدوا لله وملائكته ورسله وجبريل وميكال فإن الله عدو للكافرين
مَن كَانَ عَدُوًّا لِّلّهِ وَمَلآئِكَتِهِ وَرُسُلِهِ وَجِبْرِيلَ وَمِيكَالَ فَإِنَّ اللّهَ عَدُوٌّ لِّلْكَافِرِينَ |

| Elmalılı | Her kim Allah'a, Allah'ın meleklerine, peygamberlerine, Cebrail ile Mîkâil'e düşman olursa, iyi bilsin ki, Allah da o kâfirlerin düşmanıdır. |
| Y. Ali | Whoever is an enemy to Allah and His angels and messengers, to Gabriel and Michael,- Lo! Allah is an enemy to those who reject Faith.

وَلَقَدْ أَنزَلْنَآ إِلَيْكَ آيَاتٍ بَيِّنَاتٍ وَمَا يَكْفُرُ بِهَا إِلاَّ الْفَاسِقُونَ |

| Elmalılı | Şanım hakkı için sana çok açık âyetler; parlak mucizeler indirdik. Öyle ki, iman sahasından uzaklaşmış fasıklardan başkası onları inkâr etmez. |
| Y. Ali | We have sent down to thee Manifest Signs (ayat); and none reject them but those who are perverse.

[2:100] | eveküllemâ `âhedû `ahden nebeẕehû ferîḳum minhüm. bel ekŝeruhüm lâ yü'minûn. | أوكلما عاهدوا عهدا نبذه فريق منهم بل أكثرهم لا يؤمنون
أَوَكُلَّمَا عَاهَدُواْ عَهْداً نَّبَذَهُ فَرِيقٌ مِّنْهُم بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ |

| Elmalılı | O fasıklar hem bunları tanımıyacaklar, hem de ne zaman bir ahd üzerine antlaşma yapsalar, her defasında mutlaka içlerinden bir güruh çıkıp onu bozacak ve atıverecek öyle mi? Hatta az bir güruh değil, onların çoğu ahit tanımaz imansızlardır. |
| Y. Ali | Is it not (the case) that every time they make a covenant, some party among them throw it aside?- Nay, Most of them are faithless.

[2:101] | velemmâ câehüm rasûlüm min `indi-llâhi müṣaddiḳul limâ me`ahüm nebeẕe ferîḳum mine-lleẕîne ûtü-lkitâb. kitâbe-llâhi verâe żuhûrihim keennehüm lâ ya`lemûn. | ولما جاءهم رسول من عند الله مصدق لما معهم نبذ فريق من الذين أوتوا الكتاب كتاب الله وراء ظهورهم كأنهم لا يعلمون
وَلَمَّا جَاءَهُمْ رَسُولٌ مِّنْ عِندِ اللّهِ مُصَدِّقٌ لِّمَا مَعَهُمْ نَبَذَ فَرِيقٌ مِّنَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ الْكِتَابَ كِتَابَ اللّهِ وَرَاءَ ظُهُورِهِمْ كَأَنَّهُمْ لاَ يَعْلَمُونَ |

| Elmalılı | Üstelik Allah tarafından onlara, yanlarındaki kitabı tasdik edici bir peygamber gelince, daha önce kendilerine kitap verilenlerden bir kısmı, Allah'ın kitabını sırtlarından geriye attılar, sanki hiçbir şey bilmiyorlarmış gibi yaptılar. |
| Y. Ali | And when there came to them a messenger from Allah, confirming what was with them, a party of the people of the Book threw away the Book of Allah behind their backs, as if (it had been something) they did not know!

[2:102] | vettebe`û mâ tetlü-şşeyâṭînü `alâ mülki süleymân. vemâ kefera süleymânü velâkinne-şşeyâṭîne keferû yü`allimûne-nnâse-ssiḥr. vemâ ünzile `ale-lmelekeyni bibâbile hârûte vemârût. vemâ yü`allimâni min eḥadin ḥattâ yeḳûlâ innemâ naḥnü fitnetün felâ tekfür. feyete`allemûne minhümâ mâ yüferriḳûne bihî beyne-lmer'i vezevcih. vemâ hüm biḍârrîne bihî min eḥadin illâ biiẕni-llâh. veyete`allemûne mâ yeḍurruhüm velâ yenfe`uhüm. veleḳad `alimû lemeni-şterâhü mâ lehû fi-l'âḫirati min ḫalâḳ. velebi'se mâ şerav bihî enfüsehüm. lev kânû ya`lemûn. | واتبعوا ما تتلو الشياطين على ملك سليمان وما كفر سليمان ولكن الشياطين كفروا يعلمون الناس السحر وما أنزل على الملكين ببابل هاروت وماروت وما يعلمان من أحد حتى يقولا إنما نحن فتنة فلا تكفر فيتعلمون منهما ما يفرقون به بين المرء وزوجه وما هم بضارين به من أحد إلا بإذن الله ويتعلمون ما يضرهم ولا ينفعهم ولقد علموا لمن اشتراه ما له في الآخرة من خلاق ولبئس ما شروا به أنفسهم لو كانوا يعلمون
وَاتَّبَعُواْ مَا تَتْلُواْ الشَّيَاطِينُ عَلَى مُلْكِ سُلَيْمَانَ وَمَا كَفَرَ سُلَيْمَانُ وَلَـكِنَّ الشَّيَاطِينَ كَفَرُواْ يُعَلِّمُونَ النَّاسَ السِّحْرَ وَمَا أُنزِلَ عَلَى الْمَلَكَيْنِ بِبَابِلَ هَارُوتَ وَمَارُوتَ وَمَا يُعَلِّمَانِ مِنْ أَحَدٍ حَتَّى يَقُولاَ إِنَّمَا نَحْنُ فِتْنَةٌ فَلاَ تَكْفُرْ فَيَتَعَلَّمُونَ مِنْهُمَا مَا يُفَرِّقُونَ بِهِ بَيْنَ الْمَرْءِ وَزَوْجِهِ وَمَا هُم بِضَآرِّينَ بِهِ مِنْ أَحَدٍ إِلاَّ بِإِذْنِ اللّهِ وَيَتَعَلَّمُونَ مَا يَضُرُّهُمْ وَلاَ يَنفَعُهُمْ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمُواْ لَمَنِ اشْتَرَاهُ مَا لَهُ فِي الآخِرَةِ مِنْ خَلاَقٍ وَلَبِئْسَ مَا شَرَوْاْ بِهِ أَنفُسَهُمْ لَوْ كَانُواْ يَعْلَمُونَ |

| Elmalılı | Tuttular da Süleyman mülküne dair şeytanların uydurup izledikleri şeyin ardına düştüler. Halbuki Süleyman inkâr edip kâfir olmadı, lakin o şeytanlar kâfirlik ettiler; insanlara sihir öğretiyorlar ve Bâbil'de Harut ve Marut'a, bu iki meleğe indirilen şeyleri öğretiyorlardı. Halbuki o ikisi "biz ancak ve ancak sizi denemek için gönderildik, sakın sihir yapıp da kâfir olmayın!" demeden kimseye birşey öğretmezlerdi. İşte bunlardan karı ile kocanın arasını ayıracak şeyler öğreniyorlardı. Fakat Allah'ın izni olmadıkça bununla kimseye zarar verebilecek değillerdi. Kendi kendilerine zarar verecek ve bir fayda sağlamayacak bir şey öğreniyorlardı. Yemin olsun ki, onu her kim satın alırsa, onu alanın ahirette bir nasibi olmayacağını da çok iyi biliyorlardı. Hakkiyle bilselerdi, uğruna canlarını sattıkları şey ne çirkin bir şeydi. |
| Y. Ali | They followed what the evil ones gave out (falsely) against the power of Solomon: the blasphemers Were, not Solomon, but the evil ones, teaching men Magic, and such things as came down at babylon to the angels Harut and Marut. But neither of these taught anyone (Such things) without saying: "We are only for trial; so do not blaspheme." They learned from them the means to sow discord between man and wife. But they could not thus harm anyone except by Allah's permission. And they learned what harmed them, not what profited them. And they knew that the buyers of (magic) would have no share in the happiness of the Hereafter. And vile was the price for which they did sell their souls, if they but knew!

| Words | |واتبعوا - And they followed| ما - what| تتلو - recite(d)| الشياطين - the devils| على - over| ملك - (the) kingdom| سليمان - (of) Sulaiman.| وما - And not| كفر - disbelieved| سليمان - Sulaiman| ولكن - [and] but| الشياطين - the devils| كفروا - disbelieved,| يعلمون - they teach| الناس - the people| السحر - [the] magic| وما - and what| أنزل - was sent down| على - to| الملكين - the two angels| ببابل - in Babylon,| هاروت - Harut| وماروت - and Marut.| وما - And not| يعلمان - they both teach| من - any| أحد - one| حتى - unless| يقولا - they [both] say,| إنما - "Only| نحن - we| فتنة - (are) a trial,| فلا - so (do) not| تكفر - disbelieve."| فيتعلمون - But they learn| منهما - from those two| ما - what| يفرقون - [they] causes separation| به - with it| بين - between| المرء - the man| وزوجه - and his spouse.| وما - And not| هم - they (could)| بضارين - at all [be those who] harm| به - with it| من - any| أحد - one| إلا - except| بإذن - by permission| الله - (of) Allah.| ويتعلمون - And they learn| ما - what| يضرهم - harms them| ولا - and not| ينفعهم - profits them.| ولقد - And indeed| علموا - they knew| لمن - that whoever| اشتراه - buys it,| ما - not| له - for him| في - in| الآخرة - the Hereafter| من - any| خلاق - share.| ولبئس - And surely evil| ما - (is) what| شروا - they sold| به - with it| أنفسهم - themselves,| لو - if| كانوا - they were| يعلمون - (to) know.| |

[2:103] | velev ennehüm âmenû vetteḳav lemeŝûbetüm min `indi-llâhi ḫayr. lev kânû ya`lemûn. | ولو أنهم آمنوا واتقوا لمثوبة من عند الله خير لو كانوا يعلمون
وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ آمَنُواْ واتَّقَوْا لَمَثُوبَةٌ مِّنْ عِندِ اللَّه خَيْرٌ لَّوْ كَانُواْ يَعْلَمُونَ |

| Elmalılı | Şayet onlar iman edip de korunmuş olsalardı, elbette Allah tarafından verilecek mükafat çok hayırlı olacaktı. Keşke bunu bilselerdi. |
| Y. Ali | If they had kept their Faith and guarded themselves from evil, far better had been the reward from their Lord, if they but knew!

[2:104] | yâ eyyühe-lleẕîne âmenû lâ teḳûlû râ`inâ veḳûlü-nẕürnâ vesme`û. velilkâfirîne `aẕâbün elîm. | يا أيها الذين آمنوا لا تقولوا راعنا وقولوا انظرنا واسمعوا وللكافرين عذاب أليم
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ لاَ تَقُولُواْ رَاعِنَا وَقُولُواْ انظُرْنَا وَاسْمَعُوا ْوَلِلكَافِرِينَ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ |

| Elmalılı | Ey iman edenler! "râine" demeyin, "unzurna" deyin ve iyi dinleyin, kâfirler için elemli bir azap vardır. |
| Y. Ali | O ye of Faith! Say not (to the Messenger) words of ambiguous import, but words of respect; and hearken (to him): To those without Faith is a grievous punishment.

[2:105] | mâ yeveddü-lleẕîne keferû min ehli-lkitâbi vele-lmüşrikîne ey yünezzele `aleyküm min ḫayrim mir rabbiküm. vellâhü yaḫteṣṣu biraḥmetihî mey yeşâ'. vellâhü ẕü-lfaḍli-l`ażîm. | ما يود الذين كفروا من أهل الكتاب ولا المشركين أن ينزل عليكم من خير من ربكم والله يختص برحمته من يشاء والله ذو الفضل العظيم
مَّا يَوَدُّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ وَلاَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ أَن يُنَزَّلَ عَلَيْكُم مِّنْ خَيْرٍ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَاللّهُ يَخْتَصُّ بِرَحْمَتِهِ مَن يَشَاءُ وَاللّهُ ذُو الْفَضْلِ الْعَظِيمِ |

| Elmalılı | Ne Kitap ehlinden, ne de müşriklerden hiçbiri, size Rabbinizden bir hayır indirilsin istemez. Allah ise, üstünlüğü, rahmetiyle dilediğine mahsus kılar ve Allah çok büyük lütuf sahibidir. |
| Y. Ali | It is never the wish of those without Faith among the People of the Book, nor of the Pagans, that anything good should come down to you from your Lord. But Allah will choose for His special Mercy whom He will - for Allah is Lord of grace abounding.

[2:106] | mâ nensaḫ min âyetin ev nünsihâ ne'ti biḫayrim minhâ ev miŝlihâ. elem ta`lem enne-llâhe `alâ külli şey'in ḳadîr. | ما ننسخ من آية أو ننسها نأت بخير منها أو مثلها ألم تعلم أن الله على كل شيء قدير
مَا نَنسَخْ مِنْ آيَةٍ أَوْ نُنسِهَا نَأْتِ بِخَيْرٍ مِّنْهَا أَوْ مِثْلِهَا أَلَمْ تَعْلَمْ أَنَّ اللّهَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ |

| Elmalılı | Biz bir âyetten her neyi nesheder veya unutturursak, ondan daha hayırlısını yahut mislini getiririz. Bilmez misin ki, Allah her şeye kâdirdir. |
| Y. Ali | None of Our revelations do We abrogate or cause to be forgotten, but We substitute something better or similar: Knowest thou not that Allah Hath power over all things?

أَلَمْ تَعْلَمْ أَنَّ اللّهَ لَهُ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن دُونِ اللّهِ مِن وَلِيٍّ وَلاَ نَصِيرٍ |

| Elmalılı | Bilmez misin ki, hakikaten göklerin ve yerin mülkü Allah'ındır, hepsi O'nundur. Size de Allah'dan başka ne bir dost, ne de bir yardımcı vardır. |
| Y. Ali | Knowest thou not that to Allah belongeth the dominion of the heavens and the earth? And besides Him ye have neither patron nor helper.

[2:108] | em türîdûne en tes'elû rasûleküm kemâ süile mûsâ min ḳabl. vemey yetebeddeli-lküfra bil'îmâni feḳad ḍalle sevâe-ssebîl. | أم تريدون أن تسألوا رسولكم كما سئل موسى من قبل ومن يتبدل الكفر بالإيمان فقد ضل سواء السبيل
أَمْ تُرِيدُونَ أَن تَسْأَلُواْ رَسُولَكُمْ كَمَا سُئِلَ مُوسَى مِن قَبْلُ وَمَن يَتَبَدَّلِ الْكُفْرَ بِالإِيمَانِ فَقَدْ ضَلَّ سَوَاءَ السَّبِيلِ |

| Elmalılı | Yoksa siz peygamberinizi, bundan önce Musa'ya sorulduğu gibi, sorguya çekmek mi istiyorsunuz? Halbuki her kim imanı küfürle değiştirirse artık düz yolun ortasında sapıtmış olur. |
| Y. Ali | Would ye question your Messenger as Moses was questioned of old? but whoever changeth from Faith to Unbelief, Hath strayed without doubt from the even way.

[2:109] | vedde keŝîrum min ehli-lkitâbi lev yeruddûneküm mim ba`di îmâniküm küffârâ. ḥasedem min `indi enfüsihim mim ba`di mâ tebeyyene lehümü-lḥaḳḳ. fa`fû vaṣfeḥû ḥattâ ye'tiye-llâhü biemrih. inne-llâhe `alâ külli şey'in ḳadîr. | ود كثير من أهل الكتاب لو يردونكم من بعد إيمانكم كفارا حسدا من عند أنفسهم من بعد ما تبين لهم الحق فاعفوا واصفحوا حتى يأتي الله بأمره إن الله على كل شيء قدير
وَدَّ كَثِيرٌ مِّنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ لَوْ يَرُدُّونَكُم مِّن بَعْدِ إِيمَانِكُمْ كُفَّاراً حَسَدًا مِّنْ عِندِ أَنفُسِهِم مِّن بَعْدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الْحَقُّ فَاعْفُواْ وَاصْفَحُواْ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَ اللّهُ بِأَمْرِهِ إِنَّ اللّهَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ |

| Elmalılı | Ehli kitaptan birçoğu arzu etmektedir ki, sizi imanınızdan sonra çevirip kâfir etsinler: Hak kendilerine iyice belirdikten sonra bile sırf nefsaniyetlerinden ve kıskançlıktan dolayı bunu yaparlar. Buna rağmen siz şimdi af ile, hoşgörüyle davranın tâ Allah emrini verinceye kadar. Şüphe yok ki Allah her şeye kâdirdir. |
| Y. Ali | Quite a number of the People of the Book wish they could Turn you (people) back to infidelity after ye have believed, from selfish envy, after the Truth hath become Manifest unto them: But forgive and overlook, Till Allah accomplish His purpose; for Allah Hath power over all things.

20.
[2:110] | veeḳîmu-ṣṣalâte veâtü-zzekâh. vemâ tüḳaddimû lienfüsiküm min ḫayrin tecidûhü `inde-llâh. inne-llâhe bimâ ta`melûne beṣîr. | وأقيموا الصلاة وآتوا الزكاة وما تقدموا لأنفسكم من خير تجدوه عند الله إن الله بما تعملون بصير
وَأَقِيمُواْ الصَّلاَةَ وَآتُواْ الزَّكَاةَ وَمَا تُقَدِّمُواْ لِأَنفُسِكُم مِّنْ خَيْرٍ تَجِدُوهُ عِندَ اللّهِ إِنَّ اللّهَ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌ |

| Elmalılı | Siz namazı hakkıyle kılmaya bakın ve zekatı verin! Kendi nefsiniz için her ne hayır yaparsanız, Allah katında onu bulursunuz. Muhakkak ki, Allah bütün yaptıklarınızı görmektedir. |
| Y. Ali | And be steadfast in prayer and regular in charity: And whatever good ye send forth for your souls before you, ye shall find it with Allah: for Allah sees Well all that ye do.

21.
[2:111] | veḳâlû ley yedḫule-lcennete illâ men kâne hûden ev neṣârâ. tilke emâniyyühüm. ḳul hâtû bürhâneküm in küntüm ṣâdiḳîn. | وقالوا لن يدخل الجنة إلا من كان هودا أو نصارى تلك أمانيهم قل هاتوا برهانكم إن كنتم صادقين
وَقَالُواْ لَن يَدْخُلَ الْجَنَّةَ إِلاَّ مَن كَانَ هُوداً أَوْ نَصَارَى تِلْكَ أَمَانِيُّهُمْ قُلْ هَاتُواْ بُرْهَانَكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ |

| Elmalılı | Bir de "yahudi ve hıristiyanlardan başkası asla cennete giremeyecek" dediler. Bu onların kendi kuruntularıdır. Sen de onlara de ki; "Eğer doğru iseniz, haydi bakalım getirin delilinizi." |
| Y. Ali | And they say: "None shall enter Paradise unless he be a Jew or a Christian." Those are their (vain) desires. Say: "Produce your proof if ye are truthful."

22.
[2:112] | belâ men esleme vechehû lillâhi vehüve muḥsinün felehû ecruhû `inde rabbih. velâ ḫavfün `aleyhim velâ hüm yaḥzenûn. | بلى من أسلم وجهه لله وهو محسن فله أجره عند ربه ولا خوف عليهم ولا هم يحزنون
بَلَى مَنْ أَسْلَمَ وَجْهَهُ لِلّهِ وَهُوَ مُحْسِنٌ فَلَهُ أَجْرُهُ عِندَ رَبِّهِ وَلاَ خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلاَ هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ |

| Elmalılı | Hayır, hayır! Kim özü iyilik dolu olarak yüzünü Allah'a tertemiz döndürür ve teslim ederse, işte onun Rabbi katında ecri vardır. Onlara hiçbir korku yoktur ve onlar mahzun da olacak değiller. |
| Y. Ali | Nay,-whoever submits His whole self to Allah and is a doer of good,- He will get his reward with his Lord; on such shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.

[2:113] | veḳâleti-lyehûdü leyseti-nneṣârâ `alâ şey'. veḳâleti-nneṣârâ leyseti-lyehûdü `alâ şey'iv vehüm yetlûne-lkitâb. keẕâlike ḳâle-lleẕîne lâ ya`lemûne miŝle ḳavlihim. fellâhü yaḥkümü beynehüm yevme-lḳiyâmeti fîmâ kânû fîhi yaḫtelifûn. | وقالت اليهود ليست النصارى على شيء وقالت النصارى ليست اليهود على شيء وهم يتلون الكتاب كذلك قال الذين لا يعلمون مثل قولهم فالله يحكم بينهم يوم القيامة فيما كانوا فيه يختلفون
وَقَالَتِ الْيَهُودُ لَيْسَتِ النَّصَارَى عَلَى شَيْءٍ وَقَالَتِ النَّصَارَى لَيْسَتِ الْيَهُودُ عَلَى شَيْءٍ وَهُمْ يَتْلُونَ الْكِتَابَ كَذَلِكَ قَالَ الَّذِينَ لاَ يَعْلَمُونَ مِثْلَ قَوْلِهِمْ فَاللّهُ يَحْكُمُ بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فِيمَا كَانُواْ فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ |

| Elmalılı | Yahudiler dediler ki, "Hıristiyanlar birşey üzerinde değiller", Hristiyanlar da "Yahudiler bir şey üzerinde değiller" dediler. Oysa hepsi de kitabı okuyorlar. Hiçbir bilgisi olmayanlar da öyle onların dedikleri gibi dediler. İşte bundan dolayı Allah, ihtilafa düştükleri bu gibi şeylerde, kıyamet günü aralarında hüküm verecektir. |
| Y. Ali | The Jews say: "The Christians have naught (to stand) upon; and the Christians say: "The Jews have naught (To stand) upon." Yet they (Profess to) study the (same) Book. Like unto their word is what those say who know not; but Allah will judge between them in their quarrel on the Day of Judgment.

24.
[2:114] | vemen ażlemü mimmem mene`a mesâcide-llâhi ey yüẕkera fîhe-smühû vese`â fî ḫarâbihâ. ülâike mâ kâne lehüm ey yedḫulûhâ illâ ḫâifîn. lehüm fi-ddünyâ ḫizyüv velehüm fi-l'âḫirati `aẕâbün `ażîm. | ومن أظلم ممن منع مساجد الله أن يذكر فيها اسمه وسعى في خرابها أولئك ما كان لهم أن يدخلوها إلا خائفين لهم في الدنيا خزي ولهم في الآخرة عذاب عظيم
وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّن مَّنَعَ مَسَاجِدَ اللّهِ أَن يُذْكَرَ فِيهَا اسْمُهُ وَسَعَى فِي خَرَابِهَا أُوْلَـئِكَ مَا كَانَ لَهُمْ أَن يَدْخُلُوهَا إِلاَّ خَآئِفِينَ لهُمْ فِي الدُّنْيَا خِزْيٌ وَلَهُمْ فِي الآخِرَةِ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ |

| Elmalılı | Allah'ın mescitlerini, içlerinde Allah'ın isminin anılmasından meneden ve onların harap olmalarına çalışan kimselerden daha zâlim kim olabilir! İşte bunlar, oralara korka korka girmekten başka birşey yapmazlar. Bunlara dünyada perişanlık, ahirette de büyük bir azap vardır. |
| Y. Ali | And who is more unjust than he who forbids that in places for the worship of Allah, Allah's name should be celebrated?-whose zeal is (in fact) to ruin them? It was not fitting that such should themselves enter them except in fear. For them there is nothing but disgrace in this world, and in the world to come, an exceeding torment.

25.
[2:115] | velillâhi-lmeşriḳu velmagribü feeynemâ tüvellû feŝemme vechü-llâh. inne-llâhe vâsi`un `alîm. | ولله المشرق والمغرب فأينما تولوا فثم وجه الله إن الله واسع عليم
وَلِلّهِ الْمَشْرِقُ وَالْمَغْرِبُ فَأَيْنَمَا تُوَلُّواْ فَثَمَّ وَجْهُ اللّهِ إِنَّ اللّهَ وَاسِعٌ عَلِيمٌ |

| Elmalılı | Bununla beraber, doğu da Allah'ın, batı da Allah'ındır. Artık nereye dönerseniz dönün, orası Allah'a çıkar. Şüphe yok ki, Allah(ın rahmeti) geniştir, O, her şeyi bilendir. |
| Y. Ali | To Allah belong the east and the West: Whithersoever ye turn, there is the presence of Allah. For Allah is all-Pervading, all-Knowing.

[2:116] | veḳâlü-tteḫaẕe-llâhü veleden sübḥâneh. bel lehû mâ fi-ssemâvâti vel'arḍ. küllül lehû ḳânitûn. | وقالوا اتخذ الله ولدا سبحانه بل له ما في السماوات والأرض كل له قانتون
وَقَالُواْ اتَّخَذَ اللّهُ وَلَدًا سُبْحَانَهُ بَل لَّهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ كُلٌّ لَّهُ قَانِتُونَ |

| Elmalılı | O zalimler, "Allah kendisine çocuk edindi." dediler. Hâşâ, O sübhândır. Doğrusu, göklerde ve yerde ne varsa O'nundur. Hepsi O'na boyun eğmiştir. |
| Y. Ali | They say: "Allah hath begotten a son" :Glory be to Him.-Nay, to Him belongs all that is in the heavens and on earth: everything renders worship to Him.

[2:117] | bedî`u-ssemâvâti vel'arḍ. veiẕâ ḳaḍâ emran feinnemâ yeḳûlü lehû kün feyekûn. | بديع السماوات والأرض وإذا قضى أمرا فإنما يقول له كن فيكون
بَدِيعُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ وَإِذَا قَضَى أَمْراً فَإِنَّمَا يَقُولُ لَهُ كُن فَيَكُونُ |

| Elmalılı | O, göklerin ve yerin yoktan var edicisidir ve O, bir işin olmasını murad edince, ona yalnızca "ol!" der, o da hemen oluverir. |
| Y. Ali | To Him is due the primal origin of the heavens and the earth: When He decreeth a matter, He saith to it: "Be," and it is.

[2:118] | veḳâle-lleẕîne lâ ya`lemûne levlâ yükellimüne-llâhü ev te'tînâ âyeh. keẕâlike ḳâle-lleẕîne min ḳablihim miŝle ḳavlihim. teşâbehet ḳulûbühüm. ḳad beyyenne-l'âyâti liḳavmiy yûḳinûn. | وقال الذين لا يعلمون لولا يكلمنا الله أو تأتينا آية كذلك قال الذين من قبلهم مثل قولهم تشابهت قلوبهم قد بينا الآيات لقوم يوقنون
وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ لاَ يَعْلَمُونَ لَوْلاَ يُكَلِّمُنَا اللّهُ أَوْ تَأْتِينَا آيَةٌ كَذَلِكَ قَالَ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِم مِّثْلَ قَوْلِهِمْ تَشَابَهَتْ قُلُوبُهُمْ قَدْ بَيَّنَّا الآيَاتِ لِقَوْمٍ يُوقِنُونَ |

| Elmalılı | Bilgiden nasibi olmayanlar da "Allah bizimle konuşsa ya, yahut bize de bir mucize gelse ya!" dediler. Bunlardan öncekiler de tıpkı böyle, bunların dedikleri gibi demişlerdi. Onların kalbleri birbirlerine benzedi. Gerçekten de yakîne ermek (hakikati bilmek) isteyen bir kavim için biz mucizeleri çok açık seçik gösterdik. |
| Y. Ali | Say those without knowledge: "Why speaketh not Allah unto us? or why cometh not unto us a Sign?" So said the people before them words of similar import. Their hearts are alike. We have indeed made clear the Signs unto any people who hold firmly to Faith (in their hearts).

[2:119] | innâ erselnâke bilḥaḳḳi beşîrav veneẕîrav velâ tüs'elü `an aṣḥâbi-lceḥîm. | إنا أرسلناك بالحق بشيرا ونذيرا ولا تسأل عن أصحاب الجحيم
إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ بِالْحَقِّ بَشِيرًا وَنَذِيرًا وَلاَ تُسْأَلُ عَنْ أَصْحَابِ الْجَحِيمِ |

| Elmalılı | Şüphe yok ki, Biz seni hak ile rahmetimizin müjdecisi ve azabımızın habercisi olarak gönderdik. Sen, o cehennemliklerden sorumlu değilsin. |
| Y. Ali | Verily We have sent thee in truth as a bearer of glad tidings and a warner: But of thee no question shall be asked of the Companions of the Blazing Fire.

[2:120] | velen terḍâ `anke-lyehûdü vele-nneṣârâ ḥattâ tettebi`a milletehüm. ḳul inne hüde-llâhi hüve-lhüdâ. veleini-tteba`te ehvâehüm ba`de-lleẕî câeke mine-l`ilmi mâ leke mine-llâhi miv veliyyiv velâ neṣîr. | ولن ترضى عنك اليهود ولا النصارى حتى تتبع ملتهم قل إن هدى الله هو الهدى ولئن اتبعت أهواءهم بعد الذي جاءك من العلم ما لك من الله من ولي ولا نصير
وَلَن تَرْضَى عَنكَ الْيَهُودُ وَلاَ النَّصَارَى حَتَّى تَتَّبِعَ مِلَّتَهُمْ قُلْ إِنَّ هُدَى اللّهِ هُوَ الْهُدَى وَلَئِنِ اتَّبَعْتَ أَهْوَاءَهُم بَعْدَ الَّذِي جَاءَكَ مِنَ الْعِلْمِ مَا لَكَ مِنَ اللّهِ مِن وَلِيٍّ وَلاَ نَصِيرٍ |

| Elmalılı | Sen onların milletlerine tabi olmadıkça ne yahudiler, ne de hıristiyanlar senden asla hoşnud ve razı olmayacaklar. De ki, gerçekten de Allah'ın hidayeti, hidayetin ta kendisidir. Şânım hakkı için, sana vahiyle gelen bu kadar bilgiden sonra, kalkıp da onların arzu ve heveslerine uyacak olursan, sana Allah'dan ne bir dost bulunur, ne de bir yardımcı. |
| Y. Ali | Never will the Jews or the Christians be satisfied with thee unless thou follow their form of religion. Say: "The Guidance of Allah,-that is the (only) Guidance." Wert thou to follow their desires after the knowledge which hath reached thee, then wouldst thou find neither Protector nor helper against Allah.
