وَجَعَلَنِي مُبَارَكًا أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُ وَأَوْصَانِي بِالصَّلاَةِ وَالزَّكَاةِ مَا دُمْتُ حَيًّا |

وَبَرًّا بِوَالِدَتِي وَلَمْ يَجْعَلْنِي جَبَّارًا شَقِيًّا |

| Elmalılı | "Beni anneme hürmetkar kıldı. Beni zorba ve isyankar yapmadı." |
| Y. Ali | "(He) hath made me kind to my mother, and not overbearing or miserable;

[19:33] | vesselâmü `aleyye yevme vulittü veyevme emûtü veyevme üb`aŝü ḥayyâ. | والسلام علي يوم ولدت ويوم أموت ويوم أبعث حيا
وَالسَّلاَمُ عَلَيَّ يَوْمَ وُلِدتُّ وَيَوْمَ أَمُوتُ وَيَوْمَ أُبْعَثُ حَيًّا |

| Elmalılı | "Doğduğum gün, öleceğim gün ve dirileceğim gün selam ve emniyet benim üzerimedir." |
| Y. Ali | "So peace is on me the day I was born, the day that I die, and the day that I shall be raised up to life (again)"!

| Y. Ali | Such (was) Jesus the son of Mary: (it is) a statement of truth, about which they (vainly) dispute.

مَا كَانَ لِلَّهِ أَن يَتَّخِذَ مِن وَلَدٍ سُبْحَانَهُ إِذَا قَضَى أَمْرًا فَإِنَّمَا يَقُولُ لَهُ كُن فَيَكُونُ |

| Elmalılı | Çocuk edinmek asla Allah'ın şanına yakışmaz. O bundan münezzehtir. O, bir şeyin olmasını dilerse, ona sadece "ol" der, o da oluverir. |
| Y. Ali | It is not befitting to (the majesty of) Allah that He should beget a son. Glory be to Him! when He determines a matter, He only says to it, "Be", and it is.

وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ رَبِّي وَرَبُّكُمْ فَاعْبُدُوهُ هَذَا صِرَاطٌ مُّسْتَقِيمٌ |

| Elmalılı | "Şüphesiz benim de Rabbim, sizin de Rabbiniz Allah'tır. O halde ona ibadet edin, işte dosdoğru yol budur." |
| Y. Ali | Verily Allah is my Lord and your Lord: Him therefore serve ye: this is a Way that is straight.

فَاخْتَلَفَ الْأَحْزَابُ مِن بَيْنِهِمْ فَوَيْلٌ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِن مَّشْهَدِ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ |

| Elmalılı | Ne var ki, fırkalar (yahudi ve hıristiyanlar) kendi aralarında ihtilafa düştüler. O büyük (dehşetli) günü görecek kâfirlerin vay haline! |
| Y. Ali | But the sects differ among themselves: and woe to the unbelievers because of the (coming) Judgment of a Momentous Day!

أَسْمِعْ بِهِمْ وَأَبْصِرْ يَوْمَ يَأْتُونَنَا لَكِنِ الظَّالِمُونَ الْيَوْمَ فِي ضَلاَلٍ مُّبِينٍ |

| Elmalılı | Bize gelecekleri gün, neler işitecekler, neler görecekler! Fakat o zalimler bugün apaçık bir sapıklık içindedirler. |
| Y. Ali | How plainly will they see and hear, the Day that they will appear before Us! but the unjust today are in error manifest!

[19:39] | veenẕirhüm yevme-lḥasrati iẕ ḳuḍiye-l'emr. vehüm fî gafletiv vehüm lâ yü'minûn. | وأنذرهم يوم الحسرة إذ قضي الأمر وهم في غفلة وهم لا يؤمنون
وَأَنْذِرْهُمْ يَوْمَ الْحَسْرَةِ إِذْ قُضِيَ الْأَمْرُ وَهُمْ فِي غَفْلَةٍ وَهُمْ لاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ |

| Elmalılı | (Ey Muhammed!) İnsanların pişmanlık duyacağı ve işin bitmiş olacağı (kıyamet) günü ile onları uyar. Onlar hâlâ gaflet içindedirler, onlar iman etmezler. |
| Y. Ali | But warn them of the Day of Distress, when the matter will be determined: for (behold,) they are negligent and they do not believe!

[19:40] | innâ naḥnü neriŝü-l'arḍa vemen `aleyhâ veileynâ yürce`ûn. | إنا نحن نرث الأرض ومن عليها وإلينا يرجعون
إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَرِثُ الْأَرْضَ وَمَنْ عَلَيْهَا وَإِلَيْنَا يُرْجَعُونَ |

| Elmalılı | Şüphesiz biz bütün yeryüzüne ve üzerindekilere varis olacağız. Ve onlar da mutlaka bize döndürüleceklerdir. |
| Y. Ali | It is We Who will inherit the earth, and all beings thereon: to Us will they all be returned.

وَاذْكُرْ فِي الْكِتَابِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ إِنَّهُ كَانَ صِدِّيقًا نَّبِيًّا |

| Elmalılı | Kur'ân'da İbrahim'i(n kıssasını da) an. Şüphesiz ki o, sıddık (özü, sözü doğru) bir peygamberdi. |

إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ يَا أَبَتِ لِمَ تَعْبُدُ مَا لاَ يَسْمَعُ وَلاَ يُبْصِرُ وَلاَ يُغْنِي عَنكَ شَيْئًا |

| Elmalılı | O, bir zaman babasına şöyle demişti: "Babacığım! İşitmeyen, görmeyen ve sana hiçbir faydası olmayan şeylere niçin tapıyorsun?" |
| Y. Ali | Behold, he said to his father: "O my father! why worship that which heareth not and seeth not, and can profit thee nothing?

يَا أَبَتِ إِنِّي قَدْ جَاءَنِي مِنَ الْعِلْمِ مَا لَمْ يَأْتِكَ فَاتَّبِعْنِي أَهْدِكَ صِرَاطًا سَوِيًّا |

| Elmalılı | "Babacığım! Doğrusu sana gelmeyen bir ilim bana geldi. O halde bana uy da, seni doğru bir yola eriştireyim." |
| Y. Ali | "O my father! to me hath come knowledge which hath not reached thee: so follow me: I will guide thee to a way that is even and straight.

يَا أَبَتِ لاَ تَعْبُدِ الشَّيْطَانَ إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ كَانَ لِلرَّحْمَنِ عَصِيًّا |

| Elmalılı | "Babacığım! Şeytana tapma, çünkü şeytan Rahmân (olan Allah)a âsî oldu." |
| Y. Ali | "O my father! serve not Satan: for Satan is a rebel against (Allah) Most Gracious.

يَا أَبَتِ إِنِّي أَخَافُ أَن يَمَسَّكَ عَذَابٌ مِّنَ الرَّحْمَن فَتَكُونَ لِلشَّيْطَانِ وَلِيًّا |

| Elmalılı | "Babacığım! Doğrusu ben korkarım ki, sana Rahmân'dan bir azab dokunur da şeytana (cehennemde arkadaş) olursun." |
| Y. Ali | "O my father! I fear lest a Penalty afflict thee from (Allah) Most Gracious, so that thou become to Satan a friend."

قَالَ أَرَاغِبٌ أَنتَ عَنْ آلِهَتِي يَا إِبْراهِيمُ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ لَأَرْجُمَنَّكَ وَاهْجُرْنِي مَلِيًّا |

| Elmalılı | Babası "Ey İbrahim! Sen benim ilâhlarımdan yüz mü çeviriyorsun? Yemin ederim ki, eğer (onları kötülemekten) vazgeçmezsen, seni muhakkak taşlarım. (gerçektenveya söz ilesana taş atarım). Haydi uzun bir müddet benden uzak ol" dedi. |
| Y. Ali | (The father) replied: "Dost thou hate my gods, O Abraham? If thou forbear not, I will indeed stone thee: Now get away from me for a good long while!"

[19:47] | ḳâle selâmün `aleyk. seestagfiru leke rabbî. innehû kâne bî ḥafiyyâ. | قال سلام عليك سأستغفر لك ربي إنه كان بي حفيا
قَالَ سَلاَمٌ عَلَيْكَ سَأَسْتَغْفِرُ لَكَ رَبِّي إِنَّهُ كَانَ بِي حَفِيًّا |

| Elmalılı | İbrahim şöyle dedi: "Selâm sana olsun, senin için Rabbimden mağfiret dileyeceğim. Çünkü o, bana çok lütufkârdır." |
| Y. Ali | Abraham said: "Peace be on thee: I will pray to my Lord for thy forgiveness: for He is to me Most Gracious.

[19:48] | vea`tezilüküm vemâ ted`ûne min dûni-llâhi veed`û rabbî. `asâ ellâ ekûne bidü`âi rabbî şeḳiyyâ. | وأعتزلكم وما تدعون من دون الله وأدعو ربي عسى ألا أكون بدعاء ربي شقيا
وَأَعْتَزِلُكُمْ وَمَا تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ وَأَدْعُواْ رَبِّي عَسَى أَلاَّ أَكُونَ بِدُعَاءِ رَبِّي شَقِيًّا |

| Elmalılı | "Ben, sizden ve Allah'tan başka taptığınız şeylerden çekilip ayrılırım da Rabbime dua (ibadet) ederim. Rabbime yalvarışımda mahrum kalmayacağımı umarım." |
| Y. Ali | "And I will turn away from you (all) and from those whom ye invoke besides Allah: I will call on my Lord: perhaps, by my prayer to my Lord, I shall be not unblest."

[19:49] | felemme-`tezelehüm vemâ ya`büdûne min dûni-llâhi vehebnâ lehû isḥâḳa veya`ḳûb. veküllen ce`alnâ nebiyyâ. | فلما اعتزلهم وما يعبدون من دون الله وهبنا له إسحاق ويعقوب وكلا جعلنا نبيا
فَلَمَّا اعْتَزَلَهُمْ وَمَا يَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ وَهَبْنَا لَهُ إِسْحَقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ وَكُلاًّ جَعَلْنَا نَبِيًّا |

| Elmalılı | İbrahim, kavminden ve onların Allah'tan başka ibadet ettikleri şeylerden uzaklaşınca, biz ona İshak'ı ve (İshak'ın oğlu) Yakub'u ihsan ettik. Ve hepsini de peygamber yaptık. |
| Y. Ali | When he had turned away from them and from those whom they worshipped besides Allah, We bestowed on him Isaac and Jacob, and each one of them We made a prophet.

[19:50] | vevehebnâ lehüm mir raḥmetinâ vece`alnâ lehüm lisâne ṣidḳin `aliyyâ. | ووهبنا لهم من رحمتنا وجعلنا لهم لسان صدق عليا
وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُم مِّن رَّحْمَتِنَا وَجَعَلْنَا لَهُمْ لِسَانَ صِدْقٍ عَلِيًّا |

| Elmalılı | Biz onlara rahmetimizden lütuflarda bulunduk. Hepsine de dillerde güzel ve yüksek bir övgü verdik. |
| Y. Ali | And We bestowed of Our Mercy on them, and We granted them lofty honour on the tongue of truth.

وَاذْكُرْ فِي الْكِتَابِ مُوسَى إِنَّهُ كَانَ مُخْلَصًا وَكَانَ رَسُولاً نَّبِيًّا |

| Elmalılı | Kur'ân'da Musa'yı da an; Şüphesiz ki o, ihlaslı bir kuldu ve gönderilmiş bir peygamberdi. |
| Y. Ali | Also mention in the Book (the story of) Moses: for he was specially chosen, and he was a messenger (and) a prophet.

وَنَادَيْنَاهُ مِن جَانِبِ الطُّورِ الْأَيْمَنِ وَقَرَّبْنَاهُ نَجِيًّا |

| Elmalılı | Biz ona Tur dağının sağ yanından seslendik ve onu hususi bir konuşmada bulunmak üzere kendimize yaklaştırdık. |
| Y. Ali | And we called him from the right side of Mount (Sinai), and made him draw near to Us, for mystic (converse).

[19:53] | vevehebnâ lehû mir raḥmetinâ eḫâhü hârûne nebiyyâ. | ووهبنا له من رحمتنا أخاه هارون نبيا
وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُ مِن رَّحْمَتِنَا أَخَاهُ هَارُونَ نَبِيًّا |

| Y. Ali | And, out of Our Mercy, We gave him his brother Aaron, (also) a prophet.

وَاذْكُرْ فِي الْكِتَابِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ إِنَّهُ كَانَ صَادِقَ الْوَعْدِ وَكَانَ رَسُولاً نَّبِيًّا |

أُوْلَئِكَ الَّذِينَ أَنْعَمَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِم مِّنَ النَّبِيِّينَ مِن ذُرِّيَّةِ آدَمَ وَمِمَّنْ حَمَلْنَا مَعَ نُوحٍ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّةِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَإِسْرَائِيلَ وَمِمَّنْ هَدَيْنَا وَاجْتَبَيْنَا إِذَا تُتْلَى عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتُ الرَّحْمَن خَرُّوا سُجَّدًا وَبُكِيًّا |

Kendilerine Rahmân (olan Allah)ın âyetleri okunduğu zaman ağlayarak secdeye kapanırlardı. |

Ali | Those were some of the prophets on whom Allah did bestow His Grace,- of the posterity of Adam, and of those who We carried (in the Ark) with Noah, and of the posterity of Abraham and Israel of those whom We guided and chose. Whenever the Signs of (Allah) Most Gracious were rehearsed to them, they would fall down in prostrate adoration and in tears.

[19:59] | feḫalefe mim ba`dihim ḫalfün eḍâ`u-ṣṣalâte vettebe`ü-şşehevâti fesevfe yelḳavne gayyâ. | فخلف من بعدهم خلف أضاعوا الصلاة واتبعوا الشهوات فسوف يلقون غيا
فَخَلَفَ مِن بَعْدِهِمْ خَلْفٌ أَضَاعُواْ الصَّلاَةَ وَاتَّبَعُواْ الشَّهَوَاتِ فَسَوْفَ يَلْقَوْنَ غَيًّا |

| Elmalılı | Sonra bunların ardından öyle bir nesil geldi ki, namazı terkettiler, heva ve heveslerine uydular; onlar bu taşkınlıklarının karşılığını mutlaka göreceklerdir. (Cehennemdeki "Gayya" vadisini boylayacaklardır.) |
| Y. Ali | But after them there followed a posterity who missed prayers and followed after lusts soon, then, will they face Destruction,-

إِلاَّ مَن تَابَ وَآمَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا فَأُوْلَئِكَ يَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ وَلاَ يُظْلَمُونَ شَيْئًا |

| Elmalılı | Fakat tevbe edip iman eden ve salih amel işleyen bunun dışındadır. Bunlar cennete girecekler ve hiçbir haksızlığa uğratılmayacaklardır. |
| Y. Ali | Except those who repent and believe, and work righteousness: for these will enter the Garden and will not be wronged in the least,-
